Al-Hakam; The Judge
Al-Hakam is one of the 99 names of Allah in Islam, which means "The Judge" or "The Arbitrator". This name of Allah highlights His attribute of being the ultimate source of justice and fairness.
The name Al-Hakam appears several times in the Quran, such as in Surah Yunus, where Allah revealed a verse for the Holy Prophet (SAW), saying:
وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَٱصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
"And follow what is revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and be patient until Allah will judge. And He is the best of judges."
The name Al-Hakam reminds us that Allah is the ultimate arbitrator and judge of all things. He alone has the power to decide what is right and wrong, and to hold each person accountable for their actions. It also reminds us that Allah is the source of all justice, and we must strive for justice and fairness in all our dealings with others.
Al-Hakam is a Jamali name, and it is believed that secrets will be revealed to the person who recites this name frequently at night.
Moreover, this name of Allah teaches us to trust in Allah's judgments, even when we may not fully understand them. We should have faith that Allah's decisions are always just and that He will always do what is best for us in the long run.
Additionally, the name Al-Hakam also reminds us of our responsibility to be just and fair in all our dealings with others. We should treat everyone with equality and fairness and always strive to do what is right, even when it is difficult.
