Al-Muqeet; The Sustainer

Al-Muqeet is one of the 99 names of Allah in Islam. It is an Arabic word that conveys the meaning of sustenance, nourishment, and providing for the needs of all creation. Al-Muqeet means the Sustainer, the Nourisher, and the All-Provider.

In the Quran, Allah is described as Al-Muqeet in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 58, where it is stated,

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
Indeed, Allah is the Supreme Provider—Lord of all Power, Ever Mighty.

This verse emphasizes that Allah is the ultimate Provider, determining and granting sustenance to all beings according to His divine wisdom.

Furthermore, Allah's attribute of Al-Muqeet highlights His role as the sustainer and nourisher of everything in existence. He provides for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all His creation, ensuring their well-being. Allah's sustenance is not limited to material provisions but also encompasses guidance, blessings, and spiritual nourishment.

As believers, understanding the attribute of Al-Muqeet should instill in us a deep sense of gratitude and reliance on Allah's sustenance. We should recognize that all that we have, whether it is food, shelter, or blessings, is ultimately provided by Allah. It reminds us to be grateful for His abundant provisions and to use them in ways that please Him.

Al-Muqeet is a Jamali name, and if this name is recited on water and given to an ill mannered child, he/she will become obedient.

Moreover, Al-Muqeet reminds us of the importance of sharing and caring for others. Since Allah is the ultimate Provider, we should follow His example and be generous in providing for those in need. By sharing our resources and helping those less fortunate, we emulate the attribute of Al-Muqeet and fulfill our duty towards our fellow human beings.

In conclusion, Allah's attribute of Al-Muqeet emphasizes His role as the ultimate Sustainer and Provider. As believers, we should be grateful for His provisions and rely on Him for our sustenance. Additionally, we should be mindful of the needs of others and strive to be generous in sharing what Allah has

provided us.

May Allah, the All-Provider, bless us with His sustenance and guide us to use it in ways that please Him.

Take care of yourselves.
